The Oregon's mountain have lush green trees and beautiful forest floor plants. As you explore into Oregon’s forests in the spring there are a large variety of wildflowers scattering the landscape. This week as we enjoyed exploring the Oregon Coastal Mountain Range we also found some northern giant horsetail or some of us like calling it snake grass. It is located in the picture above. This plant is native to the area and located throughout this mountain range.
Some of these native plants love peeking up in the spring and throughout the year. We start looking for native plants like the Three-Toothed mitrewort in the early spring.
So, keep your eyes open when you are out on a hike in the Oregon’s mountains. You may find some surprises as you are hiking. They are popping up everywhere.
Enjoy the native surrounding that are all around us. Sometimes we get so involved with our day-to-day lives we forget to enjoy the simple things like these beautiful native plants.
We do have fun in Oregon!
